For years Benetti has had a large conference room at its shipyard in Viareggio, Italy set aside for owners to select interior-design treatments. Now, there’s a full, stand-alone showroom with thousands of square feet of stone, wood, and other samples from which to choose. It’s the Yachtique Styling Lounge, and it joins a similar one created for customers of its sister shipyard, Azimut, last year.
Picture a two-story building with display area after display area of fabrics, leathers, veneers, carpeting, and glass. Then picture additional display areas of nearly every conceivable accoutrement, ranging from lamps to picture frames, even silverware. The fabrics, woods, and related items are contained within the Design Lounge. The accoutrements are within the aptly named Accessories Lounge (below).
Of course, being a Benetti showroom, the Yachtique Styling Lounge’s display shelves and overall decor was created by Benetti craftsmen. The look is much like that of some Benetti megayachts, featuring rich zebrano wood with a high-gloss finish, plus leather chairs and other furnishings.
Yachtique Styling Lounge actually goes beyond interior design. There are dedicated areas for discussing and reviewing general arrangements, plus seeing both exterior styling and interior design ideas as computer renderings. The latter is particularly helpful. Imagine seeing what your selection of woods, marbles, and mosaics looks like, in a virtual-reality depiction of your saloon and stateroom, before any material is even cut. If you don’t like it, don’t worry; one swipe of the finger, and the Yachtique Styling Lounge consultants can change it. Owners and their project teams can further select watertoys at the showroom.
