Here’s Ouranos, photographed during her launch ceremony last Thursday at Tecnomar, a.k.a. Admiral Tecnomar Group. Ouranos is the largest megayacht in the Italian shipyard’s Nadara series, which emphasizes sleek lines and high performance.
Ouranos measures nearly 148 feet (45 meters) and is specifically the third Nadara 45 to launch. (The Nadara series also includes the Nadara 41 and Nadara 30.) Constructed of composite, Ouranos bears a deep-blue hull, with large ports forward. Admiral Tecnomar Group, so-named when Tecnomar acquired the Admiral brand of megayachts last autumn, was responsible for all aspects of design. Its in-house team worked with the owner on room arrangements and decor.
As for that interior, it follows what many megayacht owners prefer these days. The master suite is forward of the saloon and formal dining area on the main deck. It’s also full beam and benefits from the large ports mentioned above. The owner further has a gym and office in his suite. Below decks, five guest staterooms are amidships, arranged around a central lobby and stairway. Given four crew cabins forward of here and the captain’s cabin by the wheelhouse, the crew-to-guest ratio is quite good. Guests get to enjoy relaxation areas ranging from the skylounge to the sundeck’s hot tub and sunning spaces.
Since the Nadara series emphasizes performance, Ouranos should see a top end of 30 knots, powered by twin 4,184-hp MTUs.
UPDATE, APRIL 26, 2012: Admiral Tecnomar Group has signed a contract for its Nadara 38 series. The sale occurred just prior to the delivery of Ouranos. The new megayacht should exceed 28 knots with MTU power. Delivery is expected in summer 2014.
