What started as an objective to secure megayacht construction financing turned into the creation of a division focused on yacht management, charter, and more. SG Private Wealth Advisors, a California-based family office, through its Yacht Advisory division will assist owners in researching and hiring companies to handle these key details and will even perform the duties itself if desired.
“We’re trying to bring a fresh approach to a traditional industry,” explains Dovi Frances, co-founder and president of SG Private Wealth Advisors (pictured at far left, with colleagues Alexandra Iovtchev and Devon Morris). The Yacht Advisory evolved when the owner of Delta Marine’s Arianna obtained a construction loan with the aid of Frances and then asked for help selecting a broker for management and charter. Frances says that after interviewing the top brokerage houses, he felt there were “inherent inefficiencies.” These included how to differentiate one megayacht from the others in a fleet that can include dozens, if not upwards of 100, other yachts. Frances adds that he was concerned a so-called yacht of the moment might also be favored, and that he saw a lack of creativity in charter marketing. After talking with Arianna’s owner, he and the owner believed “there was a hidden business” for SG Private Wealth Advisors.
Now, Frances explains that SG Private Wealth Advisors does not intend to replace brokers. Rather, the family office is working with brokers who wish to book Arianna for charter. It’s also reaching out directly to other family offices, wealth managers, and more. In all respects, the goal is to present Arianna in terms of how her owner envisioned her and what charter clients can experience aboard.

Thanks for taking your shoes off – especially the heels. Yet another company trying to make a buck out of the Owners – Rob the Rich, in my opinion!

They are well aware of the no-shoes etiquette on yachts. It was requested by the photographer for the shot.
They respect Arianna and her owner immensely.

They are clearly doing something right based on all of the media they have been attracting. Shoes or no shoes. They have a smart approach in my opinion that will benefit yacht owners.
