When the owners of the 239’5” (73-meter) Grace E, a Perini Navi Vitruvius series motoryacht, take delivery later this year, they’ll also have this speedy tender to enjoy. In fact, the megayacht tender, built by Cockwells, underwent her first sea trials off Falmouth, England this week, with Grace E’s captain and engineer on hand.
The Cockwells tender measures 31’2” (9.5 meters) and is powered by twin 630-hp Yanmars. A joystick control was installed to make maneuvering around close-quarters marinas and other tricky locales easier. Once she’s out on the water, though, she can let loose: Cockwells says the megayacht tender achieved a top speed exceeding 40 knots.
Up to 12 passengers can be taken to and from shore by two crewmembers aboard the Cockwells tender. Furthermore, they should remain dry, thanks to high-back seats.
