In June, Filippetti Yacht will hand over the first Filippetti Navetta 30. The 98-foot (30-meter) megayacht, christened Gatsby, marks the largest Filippetti Yacht project to date. While she’ll be exhibited at the fall boat shows, the shipyard is revealing photo-realistic renderings of the walnut-lined interior.
First, some background. Filippetti Yacht is a family-run builder established in 2009 in Mondolfo, Italy. The founder is Fausto Filippetti, a co-founder of Pershing in 1985. With his children Martina and Giovanni, Fausto Filippetti created Filippetti Yacht. The focus: custom fiberglass yachts from 65’6” to 114’8” (20 to 35 meters). Filippetti Yacht offerings are grouped into three categories. There’s Daemon, an open series designed by Luiz de Basto. Evo is a flying-bridge series bearing design by Fulvio di Simoni, who has collaborated with Pershing for many years, too. Then there’s Navetta, a more traditional, ocean-going series designed by Pietro Mingarelli. A Navetta 26 launched in 2009 has been the Filippetti Yacht flagship, until now.
This first Filippetti Navetta 30 has a few truly personal touches. The most notable is the five-stateroom layout for guests. The general arrangement below shows how the shipyard accommodated the request. Typically, the Filippetti Navetta 30 would have four staterooms. The owner of Gatsby plans to cruise with a big party. The owner further selected abundant ivory-tone leather to complement the rich walnut wood.
The trideck Filippetti Navetta 30 doesn’t break with the suggested layout everywhere, of course. The owner’s suite remains on the main deck, raised slightly to benefit from the view. The saloon and dining area are open to one another. And there’s a skylounge aft of the wheelhouse.
Filippetti Yacht likes to call the Navetta series “eco-chic,” for combining an environmentally minded approach with customary luxury-yachting approaches. The Filippetti Navetta 30 is built to RINA’s Green Star certification, for example. In fact, the full Navetta series (26, 30, and 35) achieves that classification. Filippetti Yacht says the Navetta 30 has low fuel consumption, though no figures have been released. Fuel capacity is 6,604 gallons (25,000 liters).
Look for Gatsby to make her boat-show debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
