Consider it a taste of more to come. These are the initial photos of Suerte, the first megayacht from Tankoa Yachts. You can get a closer look at her—and experience what’s promised to be a culinary surprise aboard—at the Monaco Yacht Show next month.
Measuring 227’3” (69.3 meters) and with a beam of 38 feet (11.6 meters), Suerte is wrapping up sea trials this month. Tankoa Yachts promised the client that the twin 2,480-hp Caterpillars would permit a 16½-knot top speed at half load, in calm seas and 5 knots of wind. According to Michel Karsenti, whose company Yacht-Ology assists Tankoa Yachts with marketing and sales, Suerte achieved more than 18 knots under a nearly 70-percent load. And that occurred, he says, in swells of 6’6” to 8’2” (2 to 2.5 meters) and with winds of 18 knots, gusting to 35. Furthermore, the contract promised a 5,500-nautical-mile best range at 12 knots, and the calculations occurred at 14 knots.
Because the interior of Suerte is still being completed, no photos have yet been taking. It’s being designed by Margherita Casprini of Francesco Paszkowski Design. The same firm is responsible for the styling.
Suerte, classed to both Lloyd’s and RINA, features a steel hull and a draft of 11’1” (3.38 meters).
As for the culinary surprise, for now Tankoa Yachts is simply saying it has a handful of events planned for the Monaco show, one of which will be extra-exclusive and involve food.
