Asian yacht enthusiasts will have a little slice of Italy to admire in a few years. The Italian Sea Group is building a megayacht for its first buyer from the region. She’s an EVO 115 model, part of a new Tecnomar planing-yacht series called EVO.
The EVO series features both fiberglass and aluminum projects. The EVO 115, at 115 feet (35 meters), is the latter. She’s a three-stateroom design, with a 27’6” (8.4-meter) beam. The Italian Sea Group originally created the model with a choice of four or five staterooms, adapting it for the buyer. “Sometimes we forget that the mentality and the kind of use of the yachts in those areas is totally different from what we have in mind,” explains Gian Marco Campanino, the Group’s naval architect and interior designer.
This includes the fact that the owner wants the master stateroom below decks. (The original design situates it forward on the main deck.) It will span the full beam, however. The EVO 115 will also have a good-size spa below decks. A sauna, a steam room, and a massage room are all inside of it. Meanwhile, on the main deck, the megayacht is devoted to togetherness, with a saloon and formal dining for 10.
The owner is also customizing alfresco areas. The sundeck is gaining a hot tub, to complement sunning spaces. It will also feature a bar and a dining area tucked into a corner. Some sections of the sundeck benefit from shade, thanks to a hardtop. A large central pane of glass will still let light come through.
The EVO 115 will have twin MTU power, engineered for a 27-knot top speed. That should be as enjoyable for the crew as the owner. The crew can operate the yacht from the raised pilothouse or the alfresco steering station on the sundeck.
