A global must-watch event, the Monaco Grand Prix attracts some of the biggest and most famous megayachts year after year. The racecourse wraps around part of Port Hercule, making for the ultimate VIP viewpoints. Some yacht packages, from May 25 to 28, have already sold out. So, prioritize your charter bookings if you plan to attend. Here are just three of the superyachts setting their sights on slips for the big event:
1. Flying Dragon. Pictured above, Flying Dragon is as much for those who want to view the action as she is for those who want to be viewed. Her blue-metallic hull and dragon graphics command attention, after all. The 147-footer (44.8-meter) normally charters in summertime for €130,000 (about $136,800) per week. Inquire with Y.CO about her Monaco Grand Prix rate.
2. Jacozami. A Sunseeker 131 Yacht, Jacozami will be available for the full week of the Monaco Grand Prix, meaning May 23 to 30. Her rate, upwards of €200,000 (about $210,500), doesn’t include the berthing fee. On request, however, Sunseeker Charters says it can secure a berth near the track. The yacht has three decks from where you can watch the cars zip by.
3. Panthalassa. If sailing yachts tickle your fancy, Panthalassa may suit your Monaco Grand Prix preferences. Also available via Y.CO, she’s quite a popular charter yacht, in fact. This is due both to the crew’s professionalism as well as the overall modern ambiance, by famed studio Foster + Partners. Panthalassa has a normal summer rate similar to that of Jacozami, so inquire about the race rate.
Because berths along the Monaco Grand Prix racecourse are limited, a number of charter yachts anchor out. This lets you take a tender to shore so you can watch the action from the grandstands, or the restaurants lining the route. Still, you get to enjoy the onboard experience, and enjoy the party atmosphere. Boatbookings has at least one 80-footer (24.5-meter) available.
