In its 40 years of existence, Ocean Alexander has never had a yacht look quite like this. She’s the Ocean Alexander 90r, where the “R” has significance. The builder says that its in-house team and longtime collaborator Evan K. Marshall set out to revolutionize its offerings. They certain did with the styling, as well as some creature comforts. To that end, we’d argue that the “R” should equally signify a bit of rebellion against the norm.
Consider this. Ocean Alexander has several semi-custom models. Naturally, some styling changes and new entries have occurred over the years. However, conventional wisdom dictates that every model should have the same exterior looks. Ocean Alexander does offer that familiarity if customers want it. Simultaneously, it recognizes that there’s still room for diversity.
Currently under construction, the 90-foot (27.43-meter) Ocean Alexander 90r isn’t dramatically different simply for the sake of aesthetics. Floor-to-ceiling glass along the main deck plus lowered bulwarks enhance the experience while underway and at anchor. If you opt for the skylounge version (above), versus the open flying bridge (top), you get even more glass and all-climate enjoyment.
Speaking of all-climate enjoyment, take a long look at the beach club (below). Regardless of selecting the skylounge or the flying-bridge version, the Ocean Alexander 90r puts a virtual greenhouse at your disposal. With skylights overhead, the beach club has sliding-glass doors out to the swim platform. Warm or cool climate, it’s an ideal place to sit, relax, and enjoy a drink.
Relax and grab a drink in the saloon, too. The Ocean Alexander 90r comes with a wetbar island just forward to starboard, outboard of the dining area. The megayacht keeps the seating and dining arrangements open to one another, as you might expect. What you might not expect, though, is the ability to have the open floor plan extend straight into the galley. Sliding wall panels close the galley off when wanted.
With a main-deck master occupying the 22-foot (6.71-meter) beam, the Ocean Alexander 90r further offers either three or four guest staterooms. That’s similar to the Ocean Alexander 100. Also, customary for the builder, the Ocean Alexander 90r is turnkey. As much as she’s open to your interior-design desires, you receive full linens, china and flatware, table linens and glassware, galley pots and pans, fenders, lines, and more on delivery.
Hull number one of the Ocean Alexander 90r premieres this November.

Nice write up Diane. For sure, a very radical design by Evan K Marshall! We built scale models of both the open & enclosed upper deck versions.
