“Classical elegance” are the watchwords for the latest new contract for Turquoise Yachts. The Turkish shipyard spent the last days of 2018 finalizing the sale details with the owners. Although the yacht name and the owner’s identity are confidential for now, the shipyard can reveal a number of details about this 74M Vallicelli design.
Vallicelli is, of course, A. Vallicelli & C., the Italian design studio behind a number of sailing yachts as well as motoryachts. The 74M Vallicelli design—which actually measures 73.6 meters, or 239’5”—features long, flowing lines. They’re somewhat rounded both fore and aft, too, lending soft appeal. Further of note in the profile, the megayacht has de rigeur large ports along the main and upper decks.
One of those upper decks contains the master suite. In fact, a large pane of glass wraps around part of the suite. The owners can therefore enjoy the views while at anchor or underway. To better appreciate their surroundings, however, the 74M Vallicelli design provides them with a private alfresco sitting area, as well as two balconies.
Up to 12 guests will accompany the owners in some of their travels. They get six extra-special staterooms on the main deck. The vertical, rectangular ports forward on that deck denote the VIP suite as well as the rest of the guest staterooms. Even better, some of the staterooms convert to become sitting rooms for the adjacent cabins.
Regardless of how the rooms get arranged, interior designer Ken Freivokh and his team are gracing the 74M Vallicelli design with tones and textures to reinforce the classical elegance idea. These include leathers as well as woods, marbles, and granites. They even include a custom sculpture sitting amid the spiral stairway connecting the decks. Guests will see this upon boarding, since the main entrance leads into the multi-deck atrium housing it.
Perhaps the biggest highlight, literally, is the full-beam beach club. Nearly 47 feet (14.2 meters) wide, it opens on three sides. That should make afternoons at anchor all the more enjoyable. So, too, should boarding watertoys and tenders from here, which include several PWCs, a limo tender, and a multi-purpose tender. Then, guests can wrap up the day relaxing in the steam room.
Delivery should take place toward the end of 2020.
