WATCH: Turquoise 74M Yacht Project Transfers to Pendik Shipyard

By Diane M. Byrne on 01.16.20

the Turquoise 74M yacht project transferred to her outfitting shed in December 2020

The closing days of 2019 saw Turquoise Yachts undertake a significant step. The semi-confidential Turquoise 74M yacht project NB66 moved from the builder’s shipyard in Kocaeli to its other facility in Pendik, Turkey. The megayacht did so within Turquoise’s own 2,500-ton-capacity floating dock.

Now that she is in place for interior outfitting, the 239-foot Vallicelli-designed megayacht has the physical characteristics contemporary yacht owners want. Large windows are a must, for instance, so the upper-deck owners’ suite particularly benefits from them. In fact, they wrap around the front of the suite, letting the owners enjoy unobstructed views of their private balconies and seating area. Additional rectangular ports line relaxation areas along the main deck. These, and the glass defining the guest suites, all bring in abundant daylight.

Accordingly, the Ken Freivokh Design team is outfitting the Turquoise 74M yacht project with light-tone and light-reflective materials. Ken Freivokh adds that “the design focus is on classical elegance.” Plus, the main-deck entry leads directly into the multi-deck atrium, accentuating the sensations of space and light. Surely, the 12 guests who join the owners will also admire a sculpture specially selected to sit just opposite the main entrance, amid a spiral staircase.

Additional stand-out spaces aboard the Turquoise 74M yacht project include the extra-voluminous beach club. Nearly 47 feet (14.2 meters) wide, it opens on three sides. Don’t overlook the flexibility of the adjoining guest suites, either. Rather than remain side-by-side staterooms, they can convert to staterooms with private lounges. For times when the guests want to head to shore, the Turquoise 74M yacht project totes a nearly 32-foot-long (9.6-meter-long) limo tender. She also has another multi-purpose guest tender. And, finally, a helicopter can touch and go forward on the upper deck. If the owners are aboard the helicopter, they can step straight into their suite.

Expect delivery of the megayacht, further featuring an outdoor cinema and massage room, to occur in summertime 2021. This follows sea trials about 16 months from now.
