Mid-March started on a high note for the Ferretti Group, with the launch of the Custom Line 106 last week. The semi-displacement megayacht is a new model, but the second one (so far) between Custom Line and fellow Italian company Francesco Paszkowski Design.
In early 2018, the Ferretti Group announced the new megayacht model. The yacht keeps the sleek lines of her two larger sisters, while making for a perhaps more comfortable entry point for first-time big-boat buyers. For instance, the Custom Line 106 has accommodations for eight friends and family. A total of 2,368 square feet (220 square meters) overall await inside, available for full personalization.
The shipyard has not disclosed how the owner of this first hull has decided to design the spaces, unfortunately, other than to say it’s minimalist. Regardless, Francesco Paszkowski Design and frequent designer partner Margherita Casprini have earned a reputation for modern, appealing decors. In addition, no matter what materials the owner selected, the main deck in particular should appear welcoming, due to the Custom Line 106 having full-height windows to each side. The master suite benefits from these windows, too, sitting fully forward on the main deck. The owner requested two twins and two VIPs below decks.
With naval architecture from the Ferretti Group’s own engineering department, the Custom Line 106 should see quite good speeds. The expected top end with the standard MTU engines is 23 knots. Higher-horsepower options should allow 26 knots.
Select Feretti Group guests will get to see this first Custom Line 106 in person at a special event during the Venice Boat Show in June. Then, the official debut occurs at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
