The hull-building facility for Perini Navi in Turkey wrapped up a delivery in time for the holidays. The photos here are the hull of the first GTS version of the Perini Navi 42M E-volution series. It recently arrived at the Perini Navi shipyard in Italy, awaiting outfitting in anticipation of delivery in 2021.
The 138-foot (42-meter) series, revealed in 2018, features a combination of Perini Navi styling and Reichel/Pugh naval architecture. Being a GTS version means she is performance-oriented. This therefore suits the regattas her owner loves and has in his sights for the yacht for the future. The lightweight aluminum hull and carbon fiber deckhouse, plus other carbon fiber components, should back up the performance edge.
Also backing up the performance edge, this GTS version of the Perini Navi 42M E-volution has a 13,455-square-foot (1,250-square-meter) sail area. Sloop-rigged, she further contains a square-top mainsail, and a Panamax mast height of 205 feet (62.5 meters). Rounding out her profile features, look for a 13-foot-long (4-meter-long) bowsprit.
Since the owner won’t exclusively race, luxury touches are an important part of the project. Fully aft, for example, the owner and guests have a generous relaxation area. In fact, renderings reveal a handful of big sunpads, ideal to enjoy the day. Dual sets of steps lead down from the deck to the fold-out swim platform as well. Forward, meanwhile, a bimini can cover a cozy cockpit. While the owner and build teams are keeping a lid on décor details, they are collaborating with GCA, a studio from Barcelona.
While this 31-foot-beam (9.53-meter-beam) GTS version continues construction, Perini Navi has several other projects in build, too. They include three standard versions of the E-volution series, plus two motoryachts.
As mentioned, this first GTS version of the sailing-yacht series will see delivery in 2021. She should start cruising that spring.
