The first Friday of February saw smiles aplenty at the Viareggio, Italy facilities of Benetti. The shipyard’s management team, many craftspeople, and the elated owner of Happy Me watched the megayacht launch during a formal ceremony. Happy Me is hull number 14 in the Classic Supreme 132 semi-custom series.
The Classic Supreme 132 series appeals to owners and guests who want the advantages of long-range cruising paired with the creature comforts of a sun-chasing vacation home. Therefore, Happy Me should see a range of 3,200 nautical miles at her 11-knot cruising speed. The horsepower under the hood, so to speak, comes from twin MTU engines. Maximum speed, meanwhile, should be 14½ knots.
For those sun-chasing days, Happy Me has a 1,076-square-foot (100-square-meter) sundeck perched fully up top. Down one level, a hot tub fully forward allows for private relaxing while enjoying terrific views at anchor. The owner and eight guests can choose to dine or enjoy cocktails outside in a few spots, too.
While the yacht is underway, or if Mother Nature isn’t cooperating, the owner and guests can retire to the comfort of the saloon. Their staterooms are nice respites as well, particularly the full-beam (26’8”, or 8.18 meters) master suite. Forward on the main deck, it remains light and bright due to the large ports. Although Benetti has not revealed what woods, marbles, and other materials create the ambiance here and throughout the yacht, the owner collaborated with the Zuretti design studio.
The owner, from Germany, acknowledged the contributions of the in-house engineers and other workers who made Happy Me possible. “I’m very grateful for and impressed with the passion and devotion shown by Benetti throughout the construction of this yacht,” he says.
The launch took place less than a month after that of Ink, the first Diamond 145. In addition, in related news, Benetti celebrated yet another launch the day before Happy Me hit the water. In fact, the yacht was number six in its Delfino 95 semi-custom series. She accommodates 10 people in the owner’s party amid four decks. The owner, from Cyprus, should enjoy a range of 2,320 nautical miles at 10 knots with MAN power.
