At 35’5″ (10.5 meters), Falcon Tenders’ first limo tender from Michael Leach Design is notable for a few reasons. She caters to owners of large megayachts who want a sizable shuttle for guests, for instance. Above all, however, the boat marks one of several collaborations with leading superyacht studios, to create exclusive models.
Falcon Tenders evolved from co-founder Marc Pascoe’s experience in tender construction. With a small factory in England, the company constructs custom craft with a team whose experience dates back a decade or more. While the limo tender with Michael Leach Design, premiering at the Monaco Yacht Show, will be the first in the water, further projects are in the works. Designers ranging from Tim Heywood to Uros Pavasovic are penning projects as well. Furthermore, expect to learn more about models from David Weiss of Designova and Patrick Banfield. The gallery below gives you the first look at each of their designs.
For the first limo tender from Michael Leach Design, the two companies believe she especially suits 328-foot-plus (100-meter-plus) megayachts. Since sizable megayachts traditionally anchor out, owners and guests prefer a comfortable, enclosed ride from sea to shore. Michael Leach Design knows this quite well, having designed yachts such as Anna, Lady S, and Palladium.
Interestingly, Mark Smith, the studio’s director, says the limo and open models are “the first boats that we have worked on without the confines of an owner’s brief.” Regardless, he adds, long-held principles still hold true. “Whether large or small, primarily the parameters of boat design remain the same, which are comfort, beauty, and performance.” Furthermore, the studio has previously worked with Marc Pascoe. “We art MLD are very excited to be partnering with Falcon Tenders on their debut models,” he confirms.
When this first limo model debuts at the Monaco show, look for reclaimed teak lining her decks. It’s one of a few more environmentally responsible efforts that Falcon Tenders plans to carry out across its offerings.
