Off-roading may never have looked so stylish. Studio Sculli proposes the MSS 44 megayacht concept for owners who want as much versatility in their off-yacht adventures as they do onboard. Starting with a crane capable of hoisting a Jeep, the 146-footer(44.56-meter) is creative in making it happen.
Studio Sculli, whose projects include Audace, lends contemporary and classic lines to the yacht’s profile. These complement in-demand and time-honored comforts like abundant alfresco space, superior master accommodations, and staterooms for several family and friends. The owners’ area, for example, encompasses 1,507 square feet (140 square meters), nearly evenly divided between enclosed and open-air areas. Capable of being an entirely private deck, it includes fore and aft relaxation spaces, along with a hot tub aft.
Your six (or a few more) guests won’t want to waste the day upon waking up. The MSS 44 megayacht has an A-frame crane integrated aft in the main deck to deploy a Jeep or another vehicle, plus a tender to 26 feet (8 meters). If you’d rather prioritize watersports, though, the crane can handle a 36-foot (11-meter) tender. Those who wish to stay aboard don’t miss out on fun, however. After offloading the cars or tenders, the crew can uncover a pool and deploy the fold-down sides of the transom. Altogether, the resulting beach club puts 1,830 square feet (170 square meters) of sunning and socializing at your fingertips.
The A-frame crane isn’t the only creative surprise onboard, either. In fact, a second crane at the MSS 44’s bow can launch the crew tender (which doubles as the rescue boat) and a PWC. Furthermore, guests and crew can board that tender via bow access when the yacht is docked, for privacy.
With a beam of 31’8” (9.69 meters), the MSS 44 provides plenty of luxury amenities. Simultaneously, and important for a megayacht with an anticipated range of 5,400 nautical miles at 10 knots under Caterpillar power, the crew’s needs are prioritized, too. The crew complement of 10 to 12 has dedicated refrigerator and freezer rooms, abundant stowage, and a separate laundry to make their duties more efficient.
