American clients will be the first to cruise aboard the new Riva flagship, the 130 Bellissima. The megayacht is already under construction at the shipyard’s headquarters in La Spezia, Italy, as well.
Though details remain scarce at this point, Riva’s parent company, Ferretti Group, revealed the news at last week’s Miami Yacht Show. Additionally, it released a video teaser of the project, which you can watch below.
The glimpses of the 130 Bellissima reveal a four-deck megayacht with sharp lines, typical for the builder. Those lines come from the fellow Italian firm Officina Italiana Design. The studio, which dates back to 1994, has been responsible for all modern-era Riva yachts and superyachts, too.
The 130 Bellissima appears to have floor-to-ceiling glass along the main and upper decks, which would further be in keeping with current trends. Of course, large glass benefits staterooms below decks as well. No word yet on whether the master suite is on the main deck or elsewhere, or what other arrangement options hold in store. Regardless, Group representatives do say that the 130 Bellissima should see a 21½-knot top speed.
While we await further information, note that despite Riva calling the megayacht its new flagship, she actually isn’t its largest megayacht model. Indeed, the Riva 50 Metri is bigger, at nearly 161 feet in length. However, the 50 Metri is part of the builder’s relatively new SuperYachts Division. The 130 Bellissima, meanwhile, is part of the longstanding Yachts division. With open, sport-fly, and flying-bridge designs starting at 26 feet (8 meters), the Yachts division projects undergo construction in La Spezia. The SuperYachts Division, meanwhile, has all construction concentrated in Ancona—where sister shipyard CRN has its headquarters. The know-how from CRN craftspeople benefits Riva’s biggest boats, as well as some of the models from yet another sister brand, Custom Line.
Additionally, in related news, Ferretti Group is installing an anti-grounding system on all of its yachts starting his year. The patented system, Watchit, is from a company called Aqua Marina Tech, based in Israel. Aqua Marina Tech and Ferretti Group have an exclusivity deal in place for at least one year.
