Embarking soon on her maiden voyage in the Med, the first Ferretti Yachts 860 is in the water. The cruiser is among the largest flying-bridge models for the shipyard to date.
Although Ferretti Yachts only publicly revealed the project less than a year ago, her Italian owner commissioned her prior to that. Among the things attracting him are the modern styling, especially further use of glass. Glass insets in the bulwarks enhance the views, for instance, out from the nearly floor-to-ceiling glass along the main deck. Those looks come from the Ferretti Group’s own engineering department in combination with Filippo Salvetti for styling. In fact, this is the third time that the Salvetti studio is working with the shipyard.
The Ferretti Yachts 860 is further the third project where the shipyard and Ideaeitalia have collaborated. The interior-design company created two decor packages for customers to choose between, the Classic and the Contemporary. In keeping with their names, the packages evoke particular moods. The owner of this first Ferretti Yachts 860 chose the Classic styles. He and his guests therefore have warm, rich tones and bold contrasting colors setting the mood throughout the decks. Notably, too, Ideaeitalia included curves evocative of the Art Deco era into the design package. A spiral stairway connecting the lower and main decks complements them.
In keeping with her flying-bridge design, the new megayacht provides the owner and guests with soothing alfresco areas. A glass inset aft on the main deck makes the seating area here feel as if it’s floating above the water. A sliding glass door to the port side farther forward, meanwhile, opens up the saloon and dining area to anchorages as well.
Specially invited Ferretti Group clients will get the first looks aboard during an event in Monaco later this summer. The Ferretti Yachts 860 will then make her boat-show debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
