Not only is the second Extra X99 Fast now in the water, but she’s the second in the series for American owners. The Mini K2 motoryacht slipped into the Mediterranean Sea just yesterday, with sea trials set to emphasize just how fast Fast can be.
Extra Yachts’ parent company, Palumbo Superyachts, provides naval architecture for the series, while Guida Design is responsible for exterior styling. Overall, the Extra X99 Fast catches the eye with sporty lines and a handful of curves, notably accentuating the nearly plumb bow. The series additionally attracts attention for blending good volume with equally strong performance. The 238-gross-ton Mini K2 motoryacht should see a top speed of 37 knots with her twin 2,600-hp MTUs, which couple to waterjets. On a related note, Extra Yachts says series customers can expect maximum speeds to a thrilling 43 knots depending on the propulsion package they choose. Options for the 90-footer (33-meter) megayacht include triple engines.
Like the Extra X99 Fast hull number one, Mini K2 will call the city of Miami her home base. Ten people in the owners’ party can enjoy the South Florida lifestyle especially on the aft deck. It’s the hallmark of the series. A big alfresco leisure area, it spans 807 square feet (75 square meters) over two levels. Its sunning spaces will be the first features that some guests seek out. Others, meanwhile, will grab a seat in the lounge area. Further aft-deck features include fold-down balconies and a dining area for 12. Extra Yachts says the owners especially value spending time with friends and family.
Although photos aren’t available, the standard interior configuration for the series sees all four staterooms sit below decks. This includes the master suite, allowing the main deck exclusively to cater to day-to-night entertainment and leisure.
