If you visit Bering Yachts’ shipyard in Turkey, the sheds may strike you as being pretty full. The builder recently moved two of five Bering B80 yacht projects into its outfitting area, just a handful of more than a dozen hulls under construction across its fleet.
Bering Yachts builds semi-custom yachts and superyachts to 145 feet (44 meters), for global clientele. The rugged-looking designs appeal to long-range cruisers who believe the journey is as important as arriving at the destination. The B80 is a particularly popular series, allowing owners’ parties of up to 12 to venture much farther than most similar-size superyachts. In fact, the Bering B80 yacht has a reported range of 5,000 nautical miles at an 8½-knot cruise speed. Top speed is just slightly more, 10½ knots. More than enough fuel is aboard for this, too: about 10,500 gallons (39,755 liters).

The five Bering B80 yacht contracts are split between the builder’s Antalya and Istanbul facilities. Istanbul is where initial construction takes place of the hulls and superstructures. The joined “shells” arrive in Istanbul for the rest of outfitting and completion.

Although Bering Yachts isn’t revealing what tailored touches each of them will feature, generally speaking the series has abundant space. Volume, for example, is 220 tons. The beam is pretty wide as well, nearly 27 feet (8.1 meters). Keep in mind that LOA is just shy of 86 feet (26.2 meters). Altogether, these facts make the B80 series among the most capacious “small” superyachts. Naturally, owners can arrange interiors as they wish, with five to six staterooms and accommodations for five crewmembers.
Despite Bering’s range beginning at 65 feet, not every project is on the lower end of the size range. Currently, the biggest is the Bering B145 series, which saw Heeus launch last year. Another 145 is under construction for yet another client, among 14 total builds in different stages.
