The repetition of “3” in a 35-meter (115-foot) motoryacht with a volume of 300 gross tons and a top speed of 35 knots isn’t coincidental for Maiora or its parent company, the Next Yacht Group. The Maiora 35 Exuma yacht series, which just saw its latest launch enter the water this week, is their answer to a modest-size megayacht with big volume and plentiful amenities.
The Maiora model, which complements the Maiora 30 Walkaround series, among others, offers a combination rarely found. Typically, superyachts with sporty DNA that further prioritize speed aren’t terribly voluminous. However, this 115-footer not only has high volume for her LOA, but also looks capacious. It’s partly thanks to a nearly 26-foot (8-meter) beam. The floor-to-ceiling glass along the main deck and similarly large windows for the master and four guest staterooms below decks amplify the feeling.
With the décor featuring recycled materials as well as natural materials like wood, this Maiora 35 Exuma yacht has customization throughout. In fact, the owner, who will cruise with 10 other family and friends, did some things few buyers do. Firstly, the owner requested that the wheelhouse and captain’s cabin be connected. The captain has exclusive access to it, too. Secondly, since the owner enjoys driving, he occasionally will take the wheel at the upper deck’s second helm station. Regardless of who drives, waterjets coupled with the triple 2,000-hp MTU engines boost speed and maneuverability. (On a related note, the series can come equipped with triple 2,600-hp MTUs for speeds to nearly 40 knots.) Better maneuverability is especially important for shallow-water operations. To that point, the Maiora 35 Exuma yacht’s draft is about four feet (1.4 meters).
Whether anchored out or in a marina, the yacht further has a battery bank for a quiet night’s sleep. This is a new offering for the series, taking over air conditioning, lighting, and more from gensets.
Come daytime, though, the priority is playtime. Maiora makes the transom available with a tender garage, and this owner certainly took advantage. The main tender is upwards of 21 feet (6.5 meters), kept in a side garage. But, that’s not the main tender garage. You’ll find scuba gear, SUPs, wakeboards, Fliteboards, SeaBobs, inflatables, and much more in the primary garage fully aft. The 11-foot (3.5-meter) service tender stows here, too.
If the weather doesn’t fully cooperate, the owner and guests can still enjoy some alfresco ambience. The upper saloon, an already-ample 506-square-foot (47-square-meter) space, converts to an indoor-outdoor area two ways. Opening the glass doors aft makes space jump to more than 1,399 square feet (130 square meters). Then, lowering the side glass and opening the sliding roof makes it even better.
After delivery this summer, the owner will enjoy private cruising plus offer some charter opportunities.
