In 2025, the third C144S megayacht from Conrad Shipyard will see a bottle of champagne break across her bow. The code-named Project Moonlight yacht will share similarities with hull number one, yet also blaze her own trail.
Ace became Conrad Shipyard’s flagship model upon launch in 2022 (below). Hull number two is currently under construction at the shipyard, which is based in Gdansk, Poland. With this third contract in the series, for a longstanding Y.CO client, the yard continues with a direction set in motion in 2002. Although its history goes back to the 1940s, when it built a variety of vessels, it initially was a supplier to bigger companies. Yacht construction for its own customers became the focus within the past two decades.
Just like with the two other yachts in the series, the Project Moonlight yacht will show off styling by Reymond Langton Design. Among the highlights are a plumb bow and both contemporary and classic lines. (On a related note, the “S” in the series name, C144S, means “straight bow.”) Additionally, naval architecture is by Diana Yacht Design. Her semi-displacement steel hull form should allow leisurely cruising at 11 knots. Best range should be 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. Plus, she should still be able to access some shallows, considering her eight-foot (2.45-meter) draft.
Since the series is semi-custom, though, the owner of the Project Moonlight yacht has chosen a completely different interior-design studio than the other owners. In fact, his choice of Nauta Design marks the first time Conrad Shipyard and the Italian studio are collaborating.
Although there aren’t too many details available yet, the owner has requested five staterooms, including a main-deck master suite. It occupies the full beam, too. Guests will have an alfresco cinema for fun, along with an infinity pool on the sundeck. Of course, a beach club right at the water will be a pretty popular area as well. Generally speaking, the layout isn’t dramatically unlike what most buyers want or what the shipyard suggests. The woods, stones, furnishings, and more will make all the difference, however.
