We’re accustomed to seeing shadow yachts of substantial size. But, that doesn’t suit everyone. In fact, Canados has been banking on buyers wanting something smaller. It announced its own shadow project in 2022, and she’s now nearly complete. Hull number one of the Canados Oceanic 100 Shadow yacht series is available for sale, too.
Even though the LOA is 100 feet (30.51 meters), the megayacht actually has a waterline length of 78 feet (24 meters). Therefore, owner-operators will feel comfortable taking the helm. Of course, cabins for a captain and three crew are aboard, too. Either way, the idea is for the Oceanic 100 Shadow yacht to hold the tenders and toys, along with overflow guests, that the primary yacht can’t accommodate. Notably, the elongated main aft deck easily handles a RIB or other tender up to 23 feet (7 meters) in length. A further 16-footer (5-meter), SeaBobs, and other small watercraft still have space, too.
Since many cruisers enjoy active lifestyles, the Canados Oceanic 100 Shadow yacht can support additional watersports. The shipyard created a dive center, for instance, in proximity to the beach club. It also anticipated that some watertoys and gear would be better stowing below decks. This could mean inflatables, although buyers might keep stand-up paddleboards below, too. One thing that is certain: The buyer of hull number one will enjoy activity quickly. Canados pledges a top speed of 26 knots for the project. Cruising speed, meanwhile, is a just-as-quick 20 knots. These are extra notable because most support yachts emphasize long range and more modest speeds. Clearly, this project can venture to an anchorage well ahead of the main yacht’s arrival for the crew to set up a virtual floating playground.

What’s more, the shadow yacht isn’t just for toys. She can host the owners and guests for lunches and general leisure. Canados collaborated with Cristiano Gatto to entice buyers with a chic, contemporary décor. Just like traditional megayachts, the Canados Oceanic 100 Shadow yacht has a main-deck saloon and dining area. A handy day head is on the same deck as well. Enjoying each other’s company well into the night is no issue, either. Three staterooms sit at the base of a spiral stairway on the lower deck.
Once complete, within the next several weeks, the model will join the likes of other Canados Oceanic series, like the Oceanic 143 Trideck.
