The Azimut Grande 36M yacht, the second-largest Azimut Grande model, is in the water at the Palm Beach International Boat Show this week. In fact, the show is the first time the megayacht is appearing stateside, one of the builder’s strongest markets.
The Azimut Grande 36M is one of two megayacht models that Azimut announced in 2022, the other being the Azimut Grande 26M. The 116-footer (35-meter) prioritizes open-air enjoyment, in ways that most superyachts of her size simply don’t. Particularly noteworthy, the full-height glass surrounding the skylounge (below) slides open, retracting on all three sides. Since more and more yacht buyers enjoy this elimination of walls separating them from the seascapes, it’s a main attraction onboard. Additionally, it makes the skylounge and the aft upper deck into one big, flowing space. Customers can configure the areas the way they wish, too. Situate an aft-facing settee in the skylounge, for example, to make the most of the views when the glass all opens. Or, put a dining table just inside—or outside.
Yet another strong attraction aboard the Azimut Grande 36M yacht is the ability to walk without steps from the aft-most edge of the upper deck almost fully to the bow. Since the foredeck is elevated, the spaces are seamless. The Azimut Grande 36M yacht rewards owners and guests with an all-day lounge forward. Healthy-size sunpads complement a U-shape seating area with cocktail tables. Equally rewarding, a glass-surrounded hot tub makes you feel as if you’re floating right above the sea.
Of course, Azimut hasn’t forgotten about the main deck. Traditionally, owners have combined a saloon and formal dining area inside. However, increasingly cruisers want to spend more time outside and dine outside as a result. So, one of the popular possibilities is to make the saloon into two lounging areas. For example, the one just inside the aft-deck doors can face the horizon. The other, meanwhile, can face a large TV, as a movie-watching area.
The Palm Beach show opens on March 21. You can further see the Azimut Grande 26M at the show, since she, too, is making her American premiere.
