Quite the crowd can enjoy adventures to far-flung cruising regions aboard the yacht Project B2. The still-code-named megayacht, which launched today at Cantiere delle Marche, belongs to a fun-loving family who wanted an entirely custom project.
This is a 140-footer (nearly 43-meter) capable of covering 5,000 nautical miles on a tank of fuel. As much as robust engineering was an absolute must, so, too, was a variety of creature comforts. For instance, a chase boat, stowing aboard, is for closer-to-shore exploring, as well as transferring to and from shore for land excursions. The yacht Project B2 has a nearly 9-foot (2.7-meter) draft, so she’ll need to remain at anchor in areas with shallow waters. Additionally, the owners are keeping PWCs onboard, for pure fun.
Furthermore, several special areas are amid the decks to enhance everyone’s comfort. The beach club contains a sauna and a hammam, for example. All are just off a big swim platform, perfect for boarding the watertoys or just jumping into the sea for a swim. Instead of a traditional saloon and dining area on the main deck, however, the owners are giving priority to guest staterooms. Specifically, four practically equal-sized cabins are here, with two more staterooms below decks. Two of the guest staterooms have pullman berths as well, bringing the total passenger possibilities to 14.
The owners have been working with Francesco Paszkowski Design on the interior layout and design. (The studio is further responsible for exterior styling.) There’s a sense of calm to the décor, also with a feeling of quiet elegance. Nothing is too flashy or distracting attention away from being together and enjoying the journey. Speaking of which, eight crewmembers and a captain will help plan and execute the itineraries.
Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of the shipyard, calls the owners “a beautiful family who entrusted us to bring their vision of a new explorer yacht to life.”
The yacht Project B2 will remain at Cantiere delle Marche for several more weeks for completion. It’s part of what’s been a busy year so far for the yard. It has launched several projects, including the yacht Mat just a few weeks ago.
