A recently refitted megayacht that was among the first launches in a successful series is going under the gavel. The yacht Summer of 69 is being sold by the U.S. Marshals service in Fort Lauderdale on August 7.
The fifth hull in the Westport 130 series—her launch name was Vango, in 2003—the yacht Summer of 69 is selling with all equipment, furnishings, and gear. This includes two PWCs and a Nautilus RIB. She underwent a full interior refit in 2021

That refit included redesigning wall coverings, a combination of wood and wallpaper. Wood soles are in areas like the sky lounge, which further has a bar to port of the TV area. New carpeting, meanwhile, is underfoot in each of the five staterooms. Naturally, the master suite is forward on the main deck.
Overall, the interior layout of the yacht Summer of 69 is pretty traditional, with an open-plan saloon and dining area. Below decks, the crew’s quarters accommodate seven, with the captain’s cabin adjacent to the wheelhouse. Performance-wise, the Westport 130 series has long pledged s a top speed of 24 knots and a cruising speed of 20 knots.

The auction takes place at the U.S. Federal Building and Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale. It’s in person only. The winning bidder must provide a 10-percent deposit the day of the sale, followed by the remainder within seven days. Failing to pay the balance results in forfeiting the deposit, and the yacht going up for sale again.
National Liquidators, which is managing the sale for the U.S. Marshals, has full details about the auction on its website. The company has managed upwards of 40,000 vessel transactions since 1988, ranging from cruise ships to private yachts. It further can arrange inspecting the megayacht prior to the sale. “This is an incredibly rare opportunity for a yacht of this size and status,” says Frank Kups, National Liquidators’ managing director. “We’ve had substantial interest in this auction, and I’m confident this auction will result in a successful sale.”
