The latest waterjet-equipped megayacht from AB Yachts is nearing completion. The AB 130 yacht, additionally the builder’s new flagship, has clocked upwards of 40 knots on the radar.
Luxury lovers who thrill to indoor-outdoor living aboard a fast performer will be pleased to see a few of her features. Firstly, AB Yachts’ in-house design team created fold-down platforms flanking the aft beach area. This is similar to what the shipyard did with the AB 120 yacht series, whose first delivery is Wraith. A big U-shaped settee (with cocktail tables) on the beach area, further facing aft, encourages you to relax practically at the water’s edge.
Since multi-level beach areas are popular, too, the AB 130 yacht parks a big sunpad just a few steps forward and above, on the main level. Furthermore, it hides a pool. Add loose furnishings like a dining table, and keep the sliding doors to the saloon open, and it’s even more expansive. In fact, AB Yachts says it creates more than 1,076 square feet (100 square meters) of continuous entertainment and chill-out space.
Since the superyacht series is semi-custom, the owners of hull number one tailored the interior to their lifestyle preferences. Therefore, the saloon and a dining area are part of an open-concept layout. About 538 square feet (50 square meters) of full-height glass keeps the already-light décor tones light and bright, too.

As much as there are accommodations for 10 in the owners’ party, however, the AB 130 yacht really makes you want to soak up the outdoor lifestyle. The flying bridge is especially welcoming, capable of featuring huge sunpads and seating without crowding the deck.
Knowing how much owners and their families love their watertoys, the AB Yachts team incorporated a float-in tender garage aft. Actually, there’s another garage (though traditional) in the bow. You can stow a virtual armanda aboard: SUPs, several inflatables, Seabobs, e-foiling boards, and two three-seater PWCs. Plus, a 15-foot (4.6-meter) primary tender can stow as well.
Lastly, as mentioned, the AB 130 yacht is fast. She cruises at 35 knots, a speed at which range is still pretty good. Specifically, the shipyard says she should be able to cover 450 nautical miles. That’s more than enough to head from Florida to the Bahamas for a little island hopping and back, a popular practice for many AB Yachts owners and guests. In keeping with AB Yachts’ practices for 30 years, the propulsion package includes waterjets. Specifically, a central waterjet booster and two steerable waterjets couple with triple MTUs. Seakeeper stabilizers keep the yacht steady whether in the islands, off Miami, or elsewhere.
