Dayboats are no longer the domain of small production builders. Superyachts can serve the same purpose. Of course, they still have amenities for longer voyages, with the Sanlorenzo SP92 yacht deftly proving it’s an attractive combination. What’s more, the builder redefines the notion of a harbor-hopper with an entirely unexpected interior arrangement.
The SP92 is the smaller sister to the Sanlorenzo SP110 yacht, which premiered in 2022. “SP” means “Smart Performance,” delivering swift speeds with low fuel consumption. The SP110, for example, burns less than 8 gallons per nautical mile (30 liters per nautical mile) between 25 and 30 knots. She also tops out around 40 knots. Although Sanlorenzo hasn’t released the gallon/liter consumption for the new model, it does say that she burns 12 to 13 percent less at her cruising speed compared to similar composite yachts. Specifically, the Sanlorenzo SP92 yacht hits a maximum 38-knot speed and cruises in the mid-30s Additionally, both models feature solar panels on the superstructure. They feed battery banks capable of powering air conditioning and other comforts to reduce reliance on gensets.
Yet another smart aspect to the design is the space utilization. Despite looking like a coupe or a typical daycruiser in profile, the Sanlorenzo SP92 yacht has four deck levels. The work of Zuccon International Project and Lissoni & Partners, the amount of space is truly unprecedented. Especially welcome is the two-level living area, a big surprise when you step inside. Of course, abundant glass all around, including aft, makes a more enjoyable, light and bright experience aboard.
Alfresco spaces benefit greatly, too. The terraced, open beach area, for instance, is almost 484 square feet (45 square meters), leading straight to the water. Several friends and family can spend time together fully forward. They can spend essentially the whole day here, too, since a sunpad is a footstep or two away from a U-shape seating/dining area.
Considering draft is super-shallow, just shy of four feet (1.2 meters), your captain can drop anchor incredibly close to shore. Finally, when you’re ready for some playtime off the yacht, the tender can launch from beneath the beach area’s aftmost levels.
