Whether you have a Barbie lover in your family or you support charitable causes, this auction is for you. A special-edition pink Highfield Sport 360 RIB will go to the highest bidder as part of The Big Pink Charity Auction. As the name and color suggest, the auction raises funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Highfield Boats, an American-based RIB maker, has partnered with Tohatsu America Corporation, an outboard manufacturer, for the cause. Naturally, the RIB has a Tohatsu motor, specifically a 40-hp four-stroke outboard. Measuring 11’11’ (3.6 meters), the pink Highfield Sport 360 is hard to miss. But, the story behind it is hard to resist. Julien Carusi, Highfield Boats’ CEO, came up with the idea of the auction. “Everyone at Highfield USA is proud to join in this effort to help fight cancer of all types, especially breast cancer, which has impacted so many of our lives and the lives of our loved ones,” says Christophe Lavigne, Highfield Boats USA president. “We hope that bidders will be especially generous knowing the proceeds go to such an important cause.”
Tohatsu America’s general manager, John Adam, hopes this, too. “Together, we are committed to a world where no woman faces breast cancer alone.” He adds, “We encourage the marine industry to join us in fundraising for such a worthy cause!”
If you want to bid, the special pink Highfield Sport 360 fits easily on deck. It further fits into compact garages. Even with its small size, the RIB seats six. For practical needs, the bow cushion conceals a stowage locker, and grab holds are all around the tubes.
You can see the pink Highfield Sport 360 at this month’s Miami International Boat Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Additionally, you can see it at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. It will be part of Highfield Boats’ exhibit at the Miami show and Nautical Ventures’ display in Palm Beach.
Bidding is already open, online at Highfield Boats’ website, ending on March 22 at midnight. The company will announce the winning bidder on March 23, during the Palm Beach show.
