Having recently departed Heesen Yachts, the yacht Pa’lante is heading for the region where the majority of megayachts spend their summers, the Med. While her owners will spend some time aboard in the coming weeks, those keen to see what she’s all about can do so later this summer, too.
The yacht—whose name is pronounced pah-LAHN-teh—began construction as Project Frida. Heesen conceived her in house, as a continuation of its spec-build process. Although the yacht Pa’lante is one of the newest Heesen 55M Steel projects, she’s not necessarily identical to her predecessors. Those predecessors include Agnetha and Solemates, both of which went to clients last year. They further include Moskito, which was the first delivery in 2021. With each delivery, the shipyard incorporates feedback from the captains, crews, and owners. “By continually refining a proven steel platform with operational data, we optimize both efficiency and reliability,” explains Jeroen van der Meer, Heesen’s CEO. Simultaneously, Heesen considers new systems from its suppliers and new design trends.

As for her design, this 180-footer (55-meter) features interiors by the Luca Dini studio. The owners signed the contract well after the studio’s suggested arrangement and décor began execution. However, the design team’s modern approach to traditional nautical elegance resonated with them. Specifically, rich woods take care of the classically appealing maritime theme. Lighter-colored fabrics and furnishings, meanwhile, introduce contemporary flair. The combination of deep tones and paler ones create an enduring look as well. A handful of custom requests, including incorporating their favorite art pieces, made the interiors even more in line with how the owners like to live. All of this was possible before launch in May.
Sea trials confirmed the bluewater performance that Heesen pledged. According to the shipyard, the yacht Pa’lante is capable of a 4,500-nautical-mile range at 11 knots. That suits transatlantic crossings equally as well as covering the most popular Mediterranean destinations all summer long.

Clients seeking to understand more about Heesen’s approach can get aboard at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. The 760-gross-ton Pa’lante (whose name is a casual way of saying “forward” or “onward” in Spanish) is making her international debut there.
