Talk about a teaser: These close-up views of a new megayacht, the M50 project, are all that her creators, Mondo Marine and Hot Lab, will show for now.
Mondo Marine and Hot Lab are reserving full views and in-depth details for the Monaco Yacht Show and Fort Lauderdale International Yacht Show. For now, they’ll simply say the trideck megayacht measures 164 feet (50 meters, hence the model name) and bears a semi-displacement hull design. Hot Lab’s exterior styling is married to a technical platform developed by Mondo Marine Engineering, the shipyard’s in-house team.
The image directly above shows off a steeply raked stern, which looks to be complemented by flowing, curving elements in the superstructure. (Look closely at the sections visible in both images; there’s a definite flow, even a surge, to some details.) The megayacht’s stern conceals a beach club, said to be quite large. It’s likely that once the stern folds down, the extended platform is laid fully in teak and can be set up with lounge chairs or other furnishings. Guests get access to it via stairs to each side. There’s further a starboard-side tender garage.
Mondo Marine and Hot Lab promise the M50 to have full-height windows along much of the main deck to bring more of the outside indoors. The owner and guests should have no problem enjoying more of the outdoors, though, given the large, cockpit-like area toward the foredeck.
We’ll update this story once full details are available.
