Fresh from her build shed at Perini Navi’s facilities in Turkey, here’s the second hull in the 60-meter series designed by the yard and Ron Holland.
As a reminder, the 197-foot megayacht is a sloop version of the series; Perini Navi is also building a ketch version. The sloop’s hull is now at Perini Navi’s Italian base for full outfitting. Referred to simply as hull C.2218, she’ll be completed in 2014.
C.2218 is all aluminum, expected to displace 570 tons and remain beneath the 500-gross-ton threshold. Perini Navi is equipping her with its own sail-control system. A lifting keel will allow draft to vary from 14’4” (4.4 meters) to 40’4” (12.3 meters). No performance data is yet available, though the 60-meter series is based on Perini Navi’s 56-meter series, which includes deliveries like Salute and Panthalassa. That series has a top speed just shy of 15 knots, so perhaps C.2218 will see similar numbers.
Certainly similar to other megayachts of her size, though, C.2218 will have accommodations for an owner’s party of 12.
