Earlier today, the 285-foot (87-meter) megayacht code-named Project Global emerged from Lürssen. The partially completed project was in build under cover at its Rendsburg, Germany facility.
Project Global was floated out of the shed for completion in another shed. This is a practice common at Lürssen, and some other builders.
Given confidentiality agreements, scarce details about Project Global are available. We do know that Espen Oeino and Reymond Langton Design are the exterior and interior designers, respectively. Project Global has a gross tonnage of 2,700 tons, and a commodious beam of 45 feet (13.8 meters). She’s also being classed under Lloyd’s and will fly the Cayman Islands flag.
The owner is likely American, as an American flag was seen on the bow. Delivery is set for 2014.
Here’s a time-lapse look at the launch of Project Global.
