This 164-footer (50-meter) is the newest megayacht signed by Rossinavi. The Rossinavi Endurance 50, as she’s known, is a global explorer marking a few new developments for the Italian yard.
While Rossinavi has built ocean-capable yachts previously, it considers the Endurance 50, a.k.a. hull FR032, somewhat of an expedition yacht. The owner plans to travel the world’s oceans, so performance in a variety of conditions is important. Rossinavi further says the Endurance 50 is a fast-displacement motoryacht. That should translate to good fuel economy throughout the speed range, not just at speeds offering the longest range. Also of interest: The anticipated 17-knot top speed and overall performance will come courtesy of diesel-electric power. The Endurance 50 will additionally have Rolls-Royce electrical pod propulsion.
The styling of the Endurance 50 is more reflective of a thoroughly contemporary pleasureyacht than a purpose-built expedition yacht. It’s thanks to the work of Enrico Gobbi, chief designer of Team for Design. The two companies have collaborated on previous projects and have a few more yachts in the work as well. As you’d expect, the Endurance 50 mixes alfresco enjoyment with an interior intended to be inviting. Some of the on-deck areas can be arranged in multiple ways, depending on the owners’ and guests’ wishes for the day. For example, the upper level of the foredeck, which conceals the tender garage, can become a sundeck thanks to loose lounge chairs.
One area that will remain as is: the aft-deck pool. A glass front makes it an infinity pool, which should provide quite the sensation when the Endurance 50 is out in an anchorage. The owners of the Endurance 50 get their own private alfresco deck, too, just outside their full-beam suite on the upper deck. Wide, high windows line both sides of the suite, as they do one deck down. Full details haven’t yet been released on the interior, though Achille Salvagni Architetti is responsible for interior design. Like Team for Design, the studio has also previously worked with Rossinavi, notably on Numptia.
The Endurance 50 is expected to be delivered in May 2017.
