With the Cannes Yachting Festival 10 weeks away, the list of megayachts making their global premieres is growing. The Benetti Vivace 125 is among the debuts you can see.
The Vivace 125 is the smaller of the two models in the builder’s Fast Displacement series, a.k.a. D2P series. Bearing a wavepiercer configuration, among other design elements, the hull promises better fuel burn throughout the speed range. Performance is also boosted thanks to the Vivace 125 being equipped with Rolls-Royce Azipull pod drives. They’re azimuthing thrusters that, as the name suggests, feature a pulling propeller. Pulling props have low drag and high efficiency and can be used for both steering and forward motion. Benetti says it has an exclusive agreement with Rolls-Royce for these drives.
The Benetti Vivace 125 has a profile similar to that of her bigger sister, the Veloce 140. (The Veloce 140 debuted at last year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.) Also similar to her sister, she’s a semi-custom model. She accommodates a party of eight and seven crewmembers plus the captain. On the megayacht making her debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival, you’ll find a main-deck, full-beam (27’3”) owner’s suite and three guest staterooms below decks. You’ll also find a sundeck.
We’ll have a Megayacht News Onboard feature about the Vivace 125 following the show.
