You can ride a wave of fun (pun intended) with the wide assortment of watertoys on the market these days. Electric ones have particularly caught on. The Swedish sporting-goods company Radinn, which says its name is short for “Radical Innovation,” is among the manufacturers making a name in the megayacht market. Radinn Freeride e-boards (electric jetboards) are in several yachts’ tender garages, in fact. More may follow, considering they’re now available in an Intermediate version.
Despite “Intermediate,” these jetboards still suit novice riders. But, because the company wants to boost the thrill for more advanced riders, the Radinn Freeride Intermediate model can zoom along the water up to 30 mph (44 kph).
If you’ll be at the upcoming Miami Yacht Show, Radinn will have a handful of these rad toys on hand. And if you subscribe to the monthly MegayachtNews.com newsletter, we tell you even more about this new jetboard.
The January edition of the MegayachtNews.com newsletter contains articles you won’t find here on our daily updated site. For example, we tell you about some pending federal legislation that could deal a major blow to yachting. It concerns the issue of misclassification of employees, and how legitimate independent contractors may lose their jobs as a result. You’re hard pressed to find a yacht builder that doesn’t work with independent contractors. Similar legislation is under committee review in a number of states, too. Also in the January edition of the MegayachtNews.com newsletter, we remember Mike Kelsey, Jr.; inform you of a significant management addition at Oyster Yachts; and more.
