At nearly 202 feet (61.5 meters), with a volume of 1,200 gross tons and standing five decks high, the Sanlorenzo 62 Steel launched this week. She represents an ongoing expansion of the shipyard’s services into metal-hulled yachts.
Inside this first launch, Francesco Paszkowski Design and Margherita Casprini created a soothing, calming ambiance. The master suite—really, more like a penthouse apartment—occupies the upper deck, additionally including a skylight. Sliding glass doors further lead out to 1,324 square feet (123 square meters) of private alfresco space. This outdoor area, with a hot tub, complements 1,044 square feet (97 square meters) of enclosed space for the suite. These figures are higher than what Sanlorenzo previously revealed, too.
Overall, 39 feet (11.9 meters) of beam make the 62 Steel welcoming for the entire owners’ party. The megayacht’s beach club, for instance, has a skylight that is actually the glass bottom of the pool on the main deck. The model’s larger sister, the Sanlorenzo 64 Steel, has the same feature. In addition, the pool has a sliding, deck-like cover. Since the pool is in proximity to the 16-person dining room, the cover makes it more practical to host big parties.
Speaking of big parties, the series offers a choice of five or six staterooms, for accommodating 12 guests. As you might also expect, the series offers buyers a spa with a hammam just off the beach club, plus fold-down platforms in the beach club itself.
While the shipyard prepares for sea trials, to confirm a 17-knot top speed with MTU engines, it has an additional two 62 Steel megayachts under construction. Hull number two should be ready for delivery next April. Hull number three, meanwhile, should reach completion in early 2023.
