Megayacht News Radio, the oldest superyacht-centric podcast series, is now available on yet another listening platform. YachtCast, owned by Superyacht Radio, is showcasing each new interview as we record them.
Megayacht News Radio became the first-ever podcast series in the superyacht industry back in 2009. Each episode is an in-depth interview designed to help you learn more, to better enjoy your favorite pastime. Even though podcasting originated five years prior to that, the format was still relatively in its infancy. Our show therefore took a hiatus after a year. However, we relaunched it in March 2019. This coincided with a notable increase in consumers listening to podcasts. According to Edison Research, which has been analyzing and collecting data on the medium since 2005, podcasts now reach more than 100 million Americans each month.
Since then, we have recorded nearly two dozen podcasts. In fact, we have interviewed people ranging from Capt. Deb Radtke of American Yacht Agents to Stefano De Vivo of CRN, among others. Additionally since that time, more major podcast platforms like Spotify and iHeartRadio have made Megayacht News Radio available to listeners. “These provide us with far wider distribution, and of course a better chance of being discovered by consumers seeking an engaging way to take a deep dive into information without having to set time aside to watch a video or read a long story,” says Diane M. Byrne, MegayachtNews.com’s editor and the host of Megayacht News Radio.
With YachtCast, Megayacht News Radio gains a more international audience. YachtCast brings together both podcasts and vlogs (video blogs) focused on superyachts. It’s an initiative of Superyacht Radio, the only global radio station focused the superyacht market.
