You can almost feel the cool, crisp, misty air in this video as Anawa enjoys her first private cruising adventures amid the fjords of Norway. The scene is fitting for a yacht whose owner wants to visit some of the coldest climates on earth.
Anawa is a 203-footer (62-meter) launched in the latter part of 2019, as the first hull in the aptly named Damen SeaXplorer range. Delivery took place earlier this summer. As for the explorations that “SeaXplorer” implies, the megayacht has a lot of options at her disposal. Damen Yachting says her range is 6,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots. Specifically, she will cruise in some icy waters. Therefore, she meets Polar Class requirements. Little to no provisioning infrastructure in polar regions is not a problem for her, either. Anawa can stay independent of shore-side facilities for up to a month.
With naval architecture by Damen’s in-house designers and Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture, Anawa has a certified helipad. (Note, too, that the helicopter perfectly matches the yacht’s hull color, which looks like a sea green or even blue depending on the light conditions.) While the owners’ representatives have kept details about cruising plans confidential, perhaps the owner and guests may use the helicopter to explore snowy landscapes by air. For waterborne adventures, the yacht has a dive center, plus two tender garages.
Details about the interior design remain confidential. However, the owners chose Carlo Torre of Monaco Yacht Temptation to collaborate with them. The yacht has accommodations for 12 guests and a crew of 15, plus the captain.
