Never confuse a yacht’s size for her capabilities. Project Fox may “only” be 114’5” (34.9 meters) in length, but she is every inch an explorer. With an anticipated 3,600-nautical-mile range at 12 knots, she’ll pursue horizons around the world come 2023. And, you can be the lucky owners to do so onboard. Her current owner has decided to list her for sale.
With styling and interior design by Q London, Project Fox has a terrific backstory. Her name comes from Robert Were Fox, a 19th-century British geologist and inventor. Primarily, he’s renowned for inventing a particular dip circle (a.k.a. a deflector dipping needle compass) as a practical aid for polar navigation. In fact, this invention led to the discovery of the South magnetic pole. The steel-hulled Project Fox isn’t intended for Antarctic explorations, but can carry a party of eight on all sorts of adventures.
With 1,114 square feet (103.5 square meters) of open aft-deck space, for example, the megayacht can carry significant tenders and amphibious craft. Currently, two 2-ton-capacity cranes are on her specifications list to hoist and retrieve these. When the toys are off deck, you can transform the vast space into whatever you wish. Consider a party deck, an extra sundeck, or a more open dining area.
Inside, meanwhile, you and your guests will feel well taken care of in four suites. Two of the suites are each masters, too, and full beam at that. (Beam is 25’3”, or 7.7 meters.) One is forward on the main deck, while the other accompanies two twin staterooms below. Further highlights of the planned general arrangement include a glass-walled /media room/sky lounge, conveniently a few paces from a wine display in the lobby. Just outside, 495 square feet (46 square meters) of open-air dining, with a barbecue, will keep you content. After lunch here, just use the side decks to head forward to the lounge seating by the wheelhouse, and enjoy seeing distant shores come into better view.
Fitted with twin Caterpillar engines, Project Fox has an asking price of €15.5 million. Burgess holds her central listing.
