UPDATE, JANUARY 19, 2024: Edmiston has listed the yacht Project Secret for sale. Delivery is anticipated in November 2025. Asking price at presstime is €38.5 million (about $41.9 million).
Canadian owners are two years away from taking delivery of a custom 169-footer (nearly 52-meter) in build in Italy. Going by the code name Project Secret, their yacht is springing from the first-time collaboration between Tankoa and Vitruvius Yachts.
Vitruvius Yachts is a sustainability-focused naval architecture and design company from the renowned Philippe Briand and his wife, Veerle Battiau. It focuses on motoryachts, too, currently collaborating on a variety of custom builds worldwide, like Shinkai at Feadship. Every Vitruvius Yachts project emphasizes reduced fuel consumption and efficient operations at its core.
The new all-aluminum yacht Project Secret follows suit, of course. The design team worked for more than a year to ensure she has an efficient hull and, simultaneously, is as lightweight as possible. Additionally contributing to reducing fuel consumption, Tankoa is equipping her with hybrid propulsion. The shipyard developed the system, which incorporates batteries, with Siemens. Equally important to the owners, sound and vibration attenuation will adhere to particular decibel levels.
Thus far, images are not available of the exterior design or the interior living areas. However, the owners are working with Italy-based FM Architettura for interior design. A floating staircase reportedly is a showpiece amid the interior. Additionally, a sliding glass panel by the formal dining area opens at the press of a button. Twelve passengers have staterooms aboard, including a main-deck master suite with a fixed balcony. Among the guest accommodations, meanwhile, there’s a full-beam VIP suite. Elsewhere onboard, a gym and wellness area incorporates a sauna. Plus, the owners and guests have several relaxing areas outside to enjoy, including a pool near the waterline.
“It was a pleasure to collaborate with the owners to define the last details of what will surely be a remarkable, pleasant, and successful collaboration,” says Claudio Corvino, Tankoa’s sales manager.
