As yachting enthusiasts, we’re all sea people. But you might also be a mountain, a forest, or a desert person, too. Alva Yachts uses these same descriptions for a new series of interior designs from which to choose. In fact, Alva Yachts’ five moods, as it calls the designs, apply across its entire range of electric solar catamarans and sailing yachts.
“We wanted to create a natural and cozy living environment for our customers whilst still feeling luxurious and being eco-conscious,” explains Milan Henn, the yard’s lead designer. With each of the moods, you still get to select the materials that best reflect your tastes. Additionally, you still get to customize the general arrangement and choose from multiple exterior options.
Alva Yachts’ five moods are Mountain, Forest, Desert, Dune, and Sea. Each unites certain color schemes, fabrics, and other materials. With Desert (top), for instance, warm orange-brown tones combine with the colors you might find on cactuses and other flora. With Sea (above), meanwhile, paler tans mix with greys, perhaps mimicking beach pebbles or ocean floor stones. Greens much like the colors you see in the ocean itself come into play, too. Each of these designs is illustrated aboard Alva Yachts’ Ocean Eco 90, its largest project thus far.
Regardless of which mood you pick, all Alva Yachts prioritize connectivity among all onboard creature-comfort systems. This means the television, the music system, and even more. “It’s what makes our boats intelligent and future-proof,” Henn adds.
If you’d like to see more of Alva Yachts’ five moods, the shipyard is opening a showroom in Hamburg, Germany. There, its interior-design team can show you furniture examples and other items.
