The summer of 2017 marked the very first launch of the Custom Line Navetta 33 yacht series. That series is still going strong, too, seeing the splash of hull number 26 just this month.
Although the shipyard and owners are not revealing her name just yet, she belongs to a North American family. The family was on hand to witness the launch and, of course, officially christen her, too, with yard craftspeople looking on the full time.
With an LOA of 108 feet (33 meters), the Custom Line Navetta 33 yacht especially suits cruisers who are stepping into the 100-foot size range for the first time. Her maximum capacity of 10 passengers in five staterooms means cruising with a nice-size crowd without feeling overwhelming, for example. Plus, eight crewmembers make for more personalized service.
Since the series is further semi-custom, the entire build and design process is more personalized. These owners collaborated with the Custom Line Atelier, the yard’s in-house design department. Perhaps as a reflection of the surroundings they’ll enjoy, they chose varying shades of soft green for the décor. The same shades are on furnishings outside, too. Other subdued colors like beige mix in and contrast to create more personality, as do beige-toned Taj Mahal marble and lacquered woods.
Sea trials should confirm a top speed of 15 knots. The shipyard has not revealed which propulsion package the owners selected, though the choices are MANs and Caterpillars. Regardless of the brand and horsepower, generally speaking the superyacht sees a range close to 1,200 nautical miles. That’s certainly enough to embark on travels along the Eastern Seaboard without refueling, for instance. It’s also well suited to the Bahamas for a few weeks—as is the draft of about seven feet (2.18 meters).
Look for even more Custom Line launches from the Navetta series as well as the planing-yacht series to occur in the coming months.
