Talk about a tight squeeze: The Perla Bianca yacht transport team just cleared a bridge in taking her to her official launch site nearby, as you’re about to see. This third DOM 133 megayacht model from Baglietto is also the Italian shipyard’s third launch of the year.
The series which saw hull number one launch in March 2022, features interior design and styling by Stefano Vafiadis. “The aim of this project has always been to achieve a smooth, seamless connection between interiors and exteriors, thereby making the most of the generous onboard spaces,” he says. That explains features like the indoor-outdoor skylounge, for example. It also explains how the Perla Bianca yacht owner wanted the master suite’s sleeping area and bath to look and feel seamless, therefore without separation.
Of course, the owner of Perla Bianca had more special requests, too. One, for instance, is the floating stairway treads sandwiched between two panes of glass, leading from the main aft deck to the upper deck. Additionally, the rail-lighting design overhead in the upper-deck saloon is the same pattern found outside. Speaking of overheads, a 3D ceiling treatment essentially separates the saloon and dining area, even though the two rooms flow into one another.
To ensure that same sense of cohesive design, pale maple appears throughout Perla Bianca. It further feels almost like fabric. The actual fabrics complement the subdued tone, themselves being hushed hues. Similarly, the stonework throughout shows off whites and beiges.
That’s not to say, though, that rooms lack their own personalities. In fact, the guest staterooms each have their own décor elements. Interestingly, craftspeople built all of the beside lamps into the nightstands.
Final outfitting is underway at the shipyard, in preparation for delivery for the owner’s inaugural cruise in the summer. Top speed should be 17 knots with twin Caterpillar engines. While we don’t know her first cruising grounds, the owner apparently intends to enjoy the Bahamas regularly.
Meanwhile, while this is hull number three in the DOM 133 series, Baglietto has an additional five under contract.
