Summertime means vacation time—which means getting away from it all. There’s no better way to get away from it all than literally leaving land. So, imagine yourself enjoying an escape like the one you’re about to see aboard the Ocean Alexander 32E yacht.
The “E” in the yacht name means “Explorer,” which therefore means the 32E is the bigger sister to the Ocean Alexander 28E (previously the Ocean Alexander 27E). The concept behind the series is to provide cruisers with more range, and in turn more options. Feel like discovering hidden harbors up and down the East Coast? This megayacht lets you do it with no issue, since best range is 2,000 nautical miles. What about heading out to the Bahamas to island hop? That, too, is no issue, since full-load draft is 6’9” (2.04 meters).
Having premiered at the Miami show in February and re-appeared at the Palm Beach show in March, the Ocean Alexander 32E yacht ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of customers. Firstly, she doesn’t look like every other yacht on the market. The builder’s longtime stylist, Evan Marshall, and his team give her curvy good looks and an extra-long aft area. The studio especially delights with a beach club directly accessible off the deep swim platform, behind sliding glass doors. The feature first appeared on the 90R (which is now the 30R, named for the length in meters) and impressed yacht buyers and media alike.
Further sure to impress, the Ocean Alexander 32E yacht makes smart use of interior space and the 200-gross-ton volume. Full-height windows on the bridge deck lend a more open, expansive feel to the lounging area. Waking up in your master suite—on the main deck, aboard a 102-footer (31-meter)—is a treat.
But, since Vitamin Sea is the best cure for land-caused stress, the alfresco areas are the ones to indulge in the most. For instance, the already-mentioned swim platform is perfect for diving into the water or using for watertoy adventures. Pre- or post-swim, head to the huge sunpad and equally big seating/cocktail area on the raised foredeck. Farther aft on the bridge deck, soak in the hot tub, or request a bar beneath the overhang. Since the series is semi-custom, Ocean Alexander can do pretty much whatever you request. Make the most of breakfasts and lunches in the shade of the main aft deck, while still enjoying the fresh breezes.
