In its ongoing re-imagination of its lineup of semi-custom superyachts, Extra Yachts has borrowed some of the best features of its Triplex series. Those features have gone into the new raised-pilothouse series, naturally using the RPH designation. The X98 RPH yacht is the first model, offering the extra space and extra efficiency the brand has stood for so far.
The Triplex range, which has been striking a chord with customers, includes the X115 Triplex, the X99 Triplex, and the X96 Triplex. While the three decks provide lots of entertainment space, especially in sizes dominated by two-deckers, history shows a significant segment of superyacht buyers feels it’s too much space. A raised-pilothouse design therefore affords some space advantages without feeling overwhelming. Simultaneously, the elevated wheelhouse affords captains excellent sightlines and dedicated space for privacy or for chatting with guests as the situation presents itself.

Just as it did with the new X90 Fast yacht, Extra Yachts has partnered with Hot Lab for the looks of this new model. Although hull number one isn’t yet under construction, the styling takes a contemporary direction. Significantly, buyers should gravitate toward the big windows, sporty hardtop over the flying bridge, and overall sleek styling.
Inside, the saloon of the X98 RPH yacht can become an indoor-outdoor area by keeping the doors to the enlarged aft deck open. Conveniently, a day head is just forward. Fully forward, meanwhile, the master suite makes good use of the beam.

Hot Lab is working with customers to tailor the interiors according to their preferences for woods, stones, and other materials. This includes the four standard guest staterooms below decks. In total, more than 1,500 square feet (170 square meters) of interior space is for you to enjoy. Nearly 1,100 square feet (100 square meters) of sunning and relaxing areas await outside, too.
For better fuel economy, Extra Yachts is equipping the X98 RPH yacht with Volvo Penta’s IPS propulsion system. The shipyard expects a cruising speed of 22 knots and top end of 28 knots.
Delivery should be within two years of contract signing.
