Sometimes the shortest, simplest words represent the biggest goals. If ever a superyacht followed suit, then the Tankoa yacht Go, just christened in Italy, is certainly one of them.
The project is hull number one in the Tankoa T450 series, sold to an American in late 2021. The T450 initiated with the shipyard and Giorgio Cassetta as the stylist and interior designer. Until that time, Tankoa had delivered yachts of 164 feet (50 meters) and larger. It therefore wanted a smaller-size, lower-volume project still with a big-yacht feel. The 148-foot (45-meter) T450 delivers by promising volume not much under the 500-gross-ton threshold and hosting 12 passengers in six staterooms.
In fact, the original idea was for gross tonnage to be 430. However, since the buyer wanted a bit more interior volume, it’s now 450. Claudio Corvino, Tankoa’s sales and business development manager for the Americas and Asia Pacific, points out that the flexibility of the T450 platform allows for these types of modifications.

The “young and enthusiastic client,” in Corvino’s words, requested further changes, too. For example, all five guest staterooms are below decks, instead of being spread over two decks. Initially, Cassetta had proposed four cabins below decks and a VIP on the upper deck. Unchanged, though, the master suite is forward on the main deck.
The Tankoa yacht Go has a number of amenities that will keep the owner’s family busy from day until night while aboard. Those who enjoy a vigorous workout to start the day can use the upper-deck gym before breakfast. Later in the morning, the family can spend a lot of time together in the beach area. It has a pool and opening platforms to each side, too, expanding the usable space. (Notably, when the yacht Go is underway, a sunpad slides across the top of the pool to keep it covered.) Lunches are ideal for enjoying on the sundeck, beneath the shade of the hardtop. The same deck has a hot tub. Following dinner, the family can gather around a firepit on the sundeck until it’s time to say goodnight.

“He came out with brilliant ideas, and Giorgio Cassetta turned them into a fantastic final design and layout,” Corvino says of the owner.
While Tankoa finishes the final touches on Go, yet another T450 is in build. She, too, has an owner. However, you’ll be able to step aboard Go at the fall yacht shows.
