With the success of the B.Now, B.Yond, and B.Century series, it was only a matter of time before Benetti came up with another series. But, it’s not an ordinary one. Rather, the B.Loft series, starting with the 213-foot Benetti B.Loft 65M yacht, dramatically redefines sensations of space and volume.
According to Giorgio Cassetta of Cassetta Yacht Designers, which penned the series’ lines and interiors, the goal is to make owners and guests enjoy the interiors as much as alfresco areas. Currently, he says, yacht design essentially ushers everyone outside the moment they wake up. “Why can’t we make a project so coherent and consistent that owners can’t wait to stay inside?” he asks. One of the most effective ways the Benetti B.Loft 65M yacht addresses this is through ceiling heights of 13 feet (4 meters) on the upper deck, coupled with windows just as high. Even more sunlight streams through the glass bottom of the sundeck hot tub immediately overhead (top and below). Altogether, Cassetta says the amount of glass rivals walkable surfaces.
Yet another way the Benetti B.Loft 65M yacht encourages those aboard to linger longer is the partially covered main deck lounging area. Spreading out over 1,292 square feet (120 square meters), it’s open aft and to the sides for a villa-on-the-sea feel. Loose furnishings mean the arrangement suits each owners’ differing desires. Situate outward-facing settees by the open sides, for instance, and a dining area at the edge of the upper deck overhang, taking in the pool and the views beyond. Should customers want it enclosed, of course, Benetti can make it more of a traditional saloon.
Regardless, the area leads forward to more ample, open areas. Formal dining can take place in a 431-square-foot (40-square-meter) room with floor-to-ceiling windows. Lobbies fore and aft lend it separation from other spaces, but it remains a room worth using. Additionally worthy of attention, a winter garden and a fold-down balcony are close by, too.
Cassetta Yacht Designers didn’t stop there. Another 431 square feet (40 square meters) of usable space comes courtesy of folding platforms at the beach club level. Cassetta calls it the Cabana Club, and it’s easy to see why (below). It’s cozy, with an invitingly relaxing décor that naturally is for owners to arrange as they see fit. Glass doors on three sides all open for 180-degree views. The glass bottom of the plunge pool overhead brightens it as well.
Overall with the Benetti B.Loft series, “the aspiration was to fill a void that people didn’t even know was there,” Cassetta says.
Although Benetti hasn’t indicated which engine package will be aboard, overall 90 percent of its models offer hybrid or diesel-electric propulsion.
