Admiral Yachts is increasingly making a name for itself with large deliveries like the yacht Jas. However, superyachts with dimensions that suit the majority of buyers and owners remain on its drawing boards. An especially notable new design is the Project A-42 yacht, combining modern mega amenities with classically appealing looks.
In fact, the Project A-42 profile borrows from the Italian navetta style, a traditional cruising vessel dating back decades. Of course, contemporary details like clean, sporty looks lend her present-day appeal. The 139-footer (42.5-meter) shows off a vertical bow, for example, and a gently sloping transom. The A Group, a Monaco-based design studio, is responsible for these looks.
This same studio is responsible for the Admiral Quaranta yacht series with the shipyard. Based on her profile and drawings from Admiral Yachts, the Admiral A-42 yacht appears to be a relative of the Quaranta series, perhaps even an evolution. It isn’t surprising to see another new design from the studio and shipyard. After all, Giovanni Costantini, the founder and CEO of The Italian Sea Group, credited The A Group’s big-yacht experience in bringing something different to the Quaranta series. He mentioned that the Quaranta “encompasses typical layout and comfort features usually only found on much larger yachts.”

Similarly, the Admiral A-42 yacht has some ample areas. Firstly, the master suite develops over 538 square feet (50 square meters). The master further has a balcony. Secondly, there’s still space for a choice of four or five more staterooms amid the 28-foot (8.5-meter) beam. To create more usable floorspace plus take more advantage of the floor-to-ceiling glass, the skylounge is full beam to one side.
Since alfresco living is such an important part of modern-day cruising, buyers will appreciate the Admiral A-42 yacht sundeck. According to Admiral Yachts, it rivals one aboard a 164-footer (50-meter), with dedicated areas for sunning/lounging, dining, and cocktails. Lastly, the beach area is adaptable, thanks to folding sides. With them open, the deck space flanking the glass-wrapped pool expands and feels limitless. With them closed, there’s still plenty of space for sunpads and accessing the sea.
While only these preliminary details are available about the Admiral A-42 yacht, more should come soon.
