The Italian Sea Group’s first project with famed fashion designer and avid yachtsman Giorgio Armani is in the water. The Admiral Armani 72m yacht is, in the words of the Group’s founder and CEO, Giovanni Costantino, “the confluence of Giorgio Armani’s poetic elegance and The Italian Sea Group’s technical excellence.”
The 236-footer (72-meter) celebrated her official launch today at the Admiral Yachts facilities in Marina di Carrara, Italy. All of the craftspeople who have played a role in her creation were on hand. So, too, were shipyard executives, representatives from Armani’s yachting team and the Armani Group, as well as local dignitaries.

Armani isn’t just the owner. He has played an active role in the development of the yacht, down to her exterior lines and of course her interior layout. The Italian Sea Group Centro Stile worked closely with him to reflect his minimalist preferences for the exterior styling. Just as Armani fashions are renowned for looking impeccably put together yet relaxed, the looks are linear yet graceful. Angular aluminum superstructure sections frame areas aft, for instance, while curves wrap around the forward decks. Unexpected curves characterize the handrails, too. Satin-finished aluminum and steel, along with the paint job, should reflect sunlight and the sea in different ways.
The interiors, unveiled at a super gala in 2023, are from Armani Casa, the designer’s home accessories and furnishings company. Naturally, Armani himself has been involved from the start. In fact, at the gala, he shared, “This highly stimulating project has allowed me to create customized spaces with Armani Casa—like made-to-measure clothing—with the same craftsmanship applied to the choice of materials, details, and production.” Some of the materials aboard the Admiral Armani 72m yacht are marbles like Black Marquinia and Calacatta. They should create strong contrasts. Additionally, Canaletto walnut figures prominently, as do mirrors and handmade lighting. Overall, The Italian Sea Group characterizes the ambience as being bold yet relaxing.

Specifics aren’t yet available on the number of staterooms or special locations for them. Generally speaking, though, a superyacht of this size is more than capable of carrying 12 to 14 guests. For now, the shipyard does say that the Admiral Armani 72m yacht has floor-to-ceiling glass-lined interiors. During the gala, guests got sneak peeks at the design of the onboard spa as well as main lounge. A helipad and an alfresco lounge are among further amenities.
The first of two projects with Armani’s input inside and out, the megayacht will debut at September’s Monaco Yacht Show.
